Venizelos to form Greek cabinet amid entente push

A Havas dispatch from Athens reports former Premier Venizelos has been asked by King Alexander to form a new Greek cabinet. He plans to seek parliamentary support for Greece joining the Allies while avoiding mobilization against the public will and will explain entente interests to the people.

Regina Exhibition Sets July Dates for Large Fair

Tens of thousands attended the last Regina Exhibition and the classic event returns July 23 to 28 with over five thousand exhibits. Livestock from Western Canada and the United States will headline with Hereford cattle and prize bulls, while horses, dairy, fruit, flowers, foods, and crafts fill the grounds. A Children’s Welfare department and Red Cross displays are planned, plus nursery facilities for visitors.

Normal School Sessions Open in Regina and Saskatoon

Normal School sessions for training teachers will begin August 21, 1917 in Regina and Saskatoon and run to December 21. Third Class sessions start October 16 in the two cities and run to December 21, with limits on third classes.

American Front Construction Plans Reported in War Dispatch

A wartime dispatch details American trench lines extending five miles wide and growing to ten in months with five thousand men per mile. Construction of transport routes is underway under U S Army engineers with materials gathered before General Pershing's departure for France.

Washington reports the American army in France will occupy a sector south of St Quentin between French and Hun forces. General Pershing will decide the exact front in consultation with the French high command. The French favor an independent American command with limited sectors available.
