Ottawa Plans Food Aid for Stockmen in Drought Areas

The Dominion government via the agriculture department arranges free rail transport for stock and buying outfits from drought affected stations to feed rich zones. Railways cover half freight costs, with the department paying the other half, and returns are on similar terms. Similar hay transport privileges apply to outside feed into the dried area. Permits rely on certificates from the deputy provincial agriculture minister. Military discipline updates accompany the aid, with deserters and absentees to face court martial if not reporting.
