Mechanics Institute Seeks Funds for Renovation

The Mechanics Institute, about six decades old, needs at least 400 pounds for repairs. The Social Committee led by T M Stewart plans Saturday dances and whackos at the Imperial Hotel to raise money, aiming to exceed last week's 30 pounds and reach 100 pounds this Saturday.

State Eyes Inland Killing Works Plan With Commonwealth

The Minister for Agriculture, Ma. Graham, says the State government has a scheme to cooperate with the Commonwealth on inland killing works. Local meat needs, site, water, and transport must be considered, with state wide conditions and cooperation among local bodies, the state, and the Commonwealth. A state survey will determine where the plan best applies, ahead of a Manila Farmers and Settlers Association meeting next Saturday.
