Manilla Sees Bountiful Season and Livestock News

A bountiful season marks Manilla with 25 years of strong growth and a similar pattern in 1920. Wheat prospects are excellent after good germination and growth, with 50 000 acres sown in a range area and about 42 000 expected for harvest. Shire Council plants 30 silky oak trees along main roads to improve safety. The Royal Hotel changes hands as Arthur Lambert of Adamstown buys the business, to be transferred in two weeks. Wool shearing continues as rain delays ease, but wool trucking faces congestion due to tick-related transport issues and no government plan to date to ease the problem.
