Manilla P and C Association Hears School Plant Plans
The Manilla P and C Association met last Monday with President A R Macleod presiding. Principal A B R Kearns reported Inspector Blackwell’s visit and efforts to secure an irrigation plant for the farm, plus approval of reconditioning school furniture. The group planned a combined Function and Prize Night, and discussed donations for prizes amid high book costs. The association pressed for raising Manilla Rural School to Intermediate High School status, with Minister Heffron and Director Mackenzie to reconsider. A vote of thanks to the President and MLA Gardner was passed, and the group would write the Minister of Education.
