Manilla News Briefs on Stall Funds and Events
A Manilla street stall raised funds for the Parents and Citizens Association, leaving a credit balance of about 426. Thanks were given to donors and organizers, with special praise for the women who ran the stall. Other items include turkey and tea cosy winners, a forthcoming Fat Cattle and Sheep Sale on the 22nd with 1000 cattle, 150 local fats, and 2000 sheep, and a note on the Manilla Branch of the Country Women’s Association planning reports for the Namoi Group conference in Gunnedah. The CWA plans a social at Memorial Hall to honor Mrs. Garry, plus its 11th birthday and a sheep skins display. Also reported is the death of William Pascoe, 57, formerly of Coogle, Gunnedah district, survived by nine relatives.
