Manilla Council Grants and Debates At Tuesday Meeting
The Manilla Council met on Tuesday with Mayor presiding. Items included a sympathy gesture for Hoe Ort, transfer of property, and approval of a safety fenced gay leg near the railway. Public Works discussed turning drainage water into a pipe to the river, costing saving but concerns over cleanliness. The council declined the drain proposal, and decided to warn pigeon owners and seek cooperation on road subsidies. Officials addressed drainage complaints at Strafford River and Rowan Church streets, and granted a bathroom erection permit. The Manilla Cricket Association requested oval mowing help, with council to arrange mowing services and consider grass removal options.
