Manilla butchers begin slaughtering at country centres

North west field wheat champion crowned by Ford winner
Mr. 8 Carberry of Cardarga Culgoora won the Narrabri division of the North West field wheat championship with Ford. Runners up were Mesars Ouborne and File, and Mr. L Pryor, Gunnedah, in third. A record number of entries marked this year's event judged by G C Sparks of New England Experimental Farm.

At a special Tenterfield Municipal Council meeting a 700 signatory petition asking the Council not to pursue surcharges against three ex-aldermen was discussed at length. The Committee’s report led to a resolution to recover the surcharges, with six votes to two, dissenters being Aldermen Petherick and Miller. petitioners urged forwarding to the Local Government Department to seek new legislation.
