Manilla Silo Opens Receivals For New Wheat Season
The Manilla silo opened for the receival of the new season wheat on Wednesday. The day’s intake reached 12 278 bushels, slightly higher than the first intake of last season. Silo Manager B A Ferris praised generally good quality, with some grain a little pinched. Receivals continue at a satisfactory rate and the plant is functioning smoothly.

Water Engineer Mr G Tread told the Municipal Council that about 1000 feet of 4 inch filipolite piping is missing after North Manilla and Southbrook water extensions. Investigations show pipes stored at an electricity substation corner Lat ie and County streets. Police are investigating.

Public display by Manilla Technical College dress makers
The public is invited to a dress making display by Manilla Technical College students. The exhibit will run from 2 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday in the Imperial Hotel classrooms Legion rooms. Friday plans show the display moving to Marnworth for the event.
