First Regular High Definition Television Service Opens

British Broadcasting Corporation broadcasts from Alexandra Palace London have become a regular service using the high definition system. The innovation draws backing from the Australian Radio Manufacturers' Patents Association as London’s setup features six electric eyes and a moving curtain system. Public use may begin soon in Sydney though cost and technique remain hurdles. The Coronation will be televised to London audiences, while Manchester Guardian praised the clarity and steadiness of the pictures comparing them to cinema quality.
