OWA November Meeting Highlights and Charity Notes
The OWA November gathering at the Rest Rooms drew fewer attendees than prior meetings. New member Mrs Roberts joined, welcomed by President Minor Bowmanings. Thanks were given to Mr and Mrs Stafford for hosting International Day and to Mrs Kirkby for traveling to speak. A penny per member was sent to Head Office for the Friendship Fund. many men donated, totaling 100 pennies to include the men. Melbourne Cup Day was a success with £12 raised. International Day collections reached £6, with proceeds supporting sewer decorations. An auction of saleable goods is planned at the Mechanics Institute on December 3, with donations of used clothes, sweets, jams, and pickles encouraged. A Christmas tree is being arranged for children and afternoon tea will cost 2/0, admission free. December 1 will feature the usual Christmas Party. each member should bring a gift up to 3/0 and receive a gift in return. A high-value Aberdeen-Angus bull was sold at £35,937 in Argentina.

Protest On Airstrip Rejected By Council In Manilla
