Manilla Club Formed as North Western Swimming Association Discussed
The Manilla district activates a new swimming club with over forty attendees at the second meeting chaired by Mr ALR Dunbar. Delegates from nearby towns considered forming a North and Northwest Swimming Association with Tamworth or Quirindi as its headquarters and rules governing swimming, carnival dates, and affiliations. The council will review bathing sheds while a members committee, including Bo Vertess and L Turner, will push for local membership and club organisation. The mayor pledged support with a £1 1s donation as the club seeks active participation and badge samples for membership. A parish Euchre party at Keepit raised funds for the Keepit RC Chook fund, drawing many from Manilla.
