Graziers Annual Meeting and Report at Manilla Branch
The Manilla Branch Graziers Association NSW held its annual general meeting at the Mechanics Institute with about 35 present. President B V Byrnes welcomed Mr T G Carter as the new NSW Graziers President and presented the annual report noting four meetings, average attendance of 24 members, and 26 with non-members. The report covers local matters, including meetings on wool marketing opposition, migrant employment concerns, stock routes, weigh bridges, and a group dinner honoring local public figures. Membership declined from 130 to 123 due to deaths and sales, with calls for new members and potential organizer involvement.

Election of Officers in 35th Year as Secretary
Following the President's Court, officers were elected for the ensuing years. Chairman B V Byrnes, Vice-chairman G Nixon, District Councillors Bowman and M Park, Secretary C L Wilshire. All were re-elected unopposed except Nixon. Wilshire marks 35th year as secretary since 1917, a noted milestone for the Grailers Alan and similar groups.

Wedding of Berbara Flett in Holy Trinity Church
A pretty wedding was celebrated at Holy Trinity Church Manilla as Berbara Flett second daughter of Mr and Mrs T P Flett married Albers son of Mr and Mrs A Olive Cronulla. The bride wore white lace over satin with long sleeves a sweetheart neckline a circular train and halo satin headdress with orange blossoms and lily of the valley. She carried white gladioli and pink carnations. Attendants wore green and apricot organza with pearl necklets. The choir sang O Perfect Love and The Voice that Breathed Over Eden as bells tolled. A reception followed in the Parish Hall with Mrs Flett and Mrs Taplin hosting.}

Manilla Court remands driver on four counts
Teter Gerard Byrnes of Upper Manilla faced four charges from an Arthur Street crash on May 16. Police allege he drove while intoxicated, in a dangerous manner, culpably, and failed to stop. The coroner's inquiry pending, Byrnes was remanded on 100 pounds bail to reappear July 30.

Mail Service Discontinued Affecting Manila Departures
Despatch of mails on Tuesday and Thursday from Manila has been discontinued and Sydney papers now arrive by night bus for distribution next mail. These disabilities have been referred to Mr J O Mackenzie, President of the Manila Business News Association, who is currently in Sydney, to secure restoration of the service.

Health Minister Opens Manilla Hospital Theatre
The Minister for Health Hon. M. O'Sullivan visited Manilla on Wednesday afternoon to officially open the modernised operating theatre at Manilla Hospital. He also discussed important matters with the Hospital Board of Directors. A full report will appear in Tuesday's issue.
Assault on Police Officer Fined in Manila Court
Arthur William Matthews was fined £20 for assaulting a NSW Police officer while in duty and £5 for indecent language at Manilla Sports Ground after a football match between East Tamworth and Manilla. Sgt Maskill testified Matthews struck him, both fell, and Matthews was restrained by Tracker Rooke. Court warned of harsher penalty on repeat offense. Matthews had served with AIF, no prior convictions besides a betting offence, and professed regret.
