Maternity Unit Planned for Manila District Hospital

At the Hospital Board meeting a plan and cost estimate for a new maternity unit at Manila District Hospital were discussed. The Government architect proposed a five ward, 60 bed capacity now with 10 beds for surge needs, attached by a covered way to the main hospital, with future extensions to nurses quarters and potential attic additions for extra space. The Hospital’s Commission will cover half the cost, donations totalled £1110, and work should begin promptly to avoid material price rises.
