In a large turnout 26 competitors vied last Wednesday with ideal conditions for solid golf. He says no land forfeitures occurred, urging support for landholders amid trials. Councillor Jelbart, president of the Association, expresses regret over McKell's absence and deems the issue a priority for the State.
Town Clerk Mr Ston and City Treasurer Mr Solomon are deemed to not agree to reduced salaries under the Lord Mayor's economy scheme and will retire next month. Also noted is a magistrate ruling about hotelkeeper duties for meals but not necessarily for supplying drink to travellers.
