Obituary of Mr Harry Lane of Gunnedah
Word was received in Manilla on Saturday that Mr. Harry Lane of Gunnedah had died that morning. He lived in Manilla 29 years before moving to Gunnedah, worked in a soft goods shop, joined Stoddart and Co and later Stoddart and Hayward Pty Ltd. In 1929 he took over a clothing business from Mr. George Coffin and ran it since. In Manilla he held public roles, including president of several organisations and work with the Repatriation Committee, serving as secretary of the Send Off and Welcome Home section. A public farewell was held when he left Manilla.
