Hold-up of Machinery Delays Manilla Sewerage Scheme
At the latest monthly Municipal Council meeting Town Clerk A Browne reported that Sydney’s Department of Public Works will not supply the sewerage treatment works machinery until July or August. Earlier advice had said delivery to Manilla by end of 1951, then May 1952, now July or August. Browne asked Tamworth MLA W A Chaffey to press the Minister for Public Works to expedite delivery, noting the machinery hold-up blocks the entire sewerage project and once received the scheme should run in a few weeks.
