Barraba Bank Crime and the Barraba Case Unfolded

Former Manilla police officer Harry Grady recalls the Barraba bank robbery and murder case. Ex-Superintendent Goulder, aged 85 in Sydney, is the sole living survivor among key figures. Detective Gould arrested Cummings after Fraser found him with unusual items near Boggabri, while Lee was nabbed at Burburgate Woolshed. The trial at Tamworth featured six hours of defense by TR D Meagher as the jury, including W A Swain, faced the evidence.

Marrs Celebrate Diamond Jubilee After Sixty Years

Mrs Mary Bourke and Mr E Marr marked sixty years of marriage on May 5 1554 at St Nicholas Tamworth with family and friends sending gifts and telegrams. They raised two sons and three daughters in Keepit and Manilla and now reside in Hill Street Manilla. The celebration included a three decker cake, a wireless gift, and toasts by Rev Father O'Brien and Mrs S May.
