Miss Kathleen Laurie Dowe Weds Garnet Hawker at Manilla Church
The ceremony took place in Holy Trinity Church Manilla on March 30 at 7:30 pm with Rev T Hunter Barratt officiating. The bridal party included Miss Sheila Murchison and Keith Hawker with a choral service and a wedding breakfast for about 70 guests in the Parish Hall. The couple planned a Sydney honeymoon, while the bride’s party and families received many congratulatory telegrams and gifts. Also noted: Mr Ivan Maunder of Klorn hospitalized in Tameworth with throat pneumonia, improving, and a Juvenile Ball hosted by the Returned Soldiers' League, with another to follow by the P and C Association.
