The figures show wool sales since 1904-05 with 29,545 bales sold that season and 141,450 bales in 1991-92 the peak. For the present season the forecast is 150,000 bales. The rise is an achievement to appeal to growers seeking best returns for wool stock and related items.
The Department of Transport NSW amended store stock carriage rules effective March 1, allowing store stock in train loads to be moved at half rates for cattle and sheep under inspector certification. Less than train loads receive 25 percent off for distances over 100 miles, with certificates required. Special provisions cover full train loads for canning or boiling down, with 30 percent concessions under Form K2, and a public meeting in Manilla for the United Australia Party.

Gala Day on 22 April during Sydney Festival Week will feature a Military Display. The Citizens of Sydney Organising Committee has engaged the 1st Field Cadre Royal Australian Artillery with its band for a night cavalry musical ride. The Royal Australian Artillery will provide Guard of Honour and full dress band for the Governor General and State Governor's arrival. The pageant’s Military Front will be staged in an original scheme with multiple bands expected in the gala day processions. Also mentioned is a large Scotland-themed element with 140 pipers and a reference to wide public interest.
