Manilla electricity panel debates county versus own plant
The Electricity Commission of New South Wales visited Manilla on Thursday without its chairman Mr Brain to discuss power options. The visit contrasted the Commission’s approach with Tamworth’s needs and Manilla’s well established, low cost, 24 hour service. The article argues Manilla should remain independent, citing a strong local network and borrowing capacity, while warning against higher rates and delays under county council control. It also notes a local school association presentation to retiring President Rev N Ward.
