At the Man ila Golf Club annual meeting president C N Scott presided. The club shows progress with permanent work and improved golf course. The opening year debit balance fell from £488 to £424. Secretary H J Roberts resigned in April, J N Kennedy appointed assistant secretary. treasurer Gall transferred to Quirindi in September.
Membership stood at 38 with 18 associates and subscription income of £93 7s 6d, down about £20. During the year the A and B grade championships were won by R Chapman and A R Watts. The committee thanked the clones of trophies played for. winners included Royal cup R M Smith and Smith cup B.
The annual ball yielded a net profit of £40 and the year’s tournament was well attended, especially by nearby clubs, with £24 net from the event. The club affiliated with the North and North Western districts Association and elected a committee including Dr Waterhouse and N. Scott. Opening day set for March 25.
At the Royal Agricultural Society council meeting Sir Samuel Hordern said he will be away on a health trip to England. J H S Angus was elected Acting President. Brisbane invited ten NSW Junior Farmers to the Brisbane Royal Show in August. Fodder Conservation Conference will be held in Sydney on 11 and 12 August. Horse, cattle, pig, poultry, and agricultural section entries for the Royal Show are due on successive days.
