At a recent Manila Swimming Club gathering it was decided to hold the club’s annual meet in September. In the Guild Cap competition first round 30 yards freestyle saw K Hull and B R Browne tied for first with 5 points each. Anthoney and O Weatherall scored. Second round included R O H with 3 points and R Hall with 2. Third round featured Wegardy in breaststroke with Browne on 5 points, Hall and Anthoney disqualified. Fourth round diving had Anthoney 5 and Browne 8. Fifth round 50 yards freestyle had Browne 5 and Weatherall 4.

Jubilant Gelden Jubilee in Young Honors Monsignor Henpeny
Mrs D Vemeovk returned this week after visiting Young for the Gelden Jubilee of Monsignor Henpeny. Thousands attended as the council declared a public holiday. The Reverend Monsignor, 43 years in Young, built a hospital and an Old Men's Rest Home costing over £100,000. Both institutions were open, residents celebrated, and a band cheque for £1250 was raised. The Monsignor praised the gift, saying it would be spent on bricks.
