Manilla Court Hears Drunkenness and Assault Cases
At Manilla Police Court on Monday before Mesury A RB McLeed and J A Rochfort Js, Clifford Jenner (35) faced charges of drunkenness and assaulting Constable McClosky on June 17, with Percy John Jenner and Spencer Roy Jenner charged for inciting to resist arrest. The three pleaded not guilty. McClosky testified to a violent struggle as Jenner resisted handcuffs. The bench found all charges proved. Clifford Jenner fined 10 pounds or 24 hours hard labor for drunkenness and given three months hard labor for assaulting police. Percy Jenner fined £5 and bound over for 12 months. Spencer Jenner fined £3 with 12 months bound over.
