Council Discusses Junior Assistant Plan and Light Standard Site
At the council meeting N Kennedy moved a motion to hire a junior assistant under 17 who has English and Maths Intermediate passes, to help with unemployed relief work as staff are overburdened. Ald Wilshire seconded and the motion passed. Ald Baker questioned the light standard site at Manilla and Court streets, calling the new location unsatisfactory. Ald J D Kennedy noted Mr Jochimson’s advice to the council.
