Taxation officers address Manilla landmen on new system

W J Doherty and L Brown of the Taxation Commission spoke to a large Mechanics Institute meeting about the July 7 pay as you go system. They discussed share farmers, driving, and tax collection. Officers promised to investigate disputed points and report. A vote of thanks was given to them by Graziers Association president G S H Parl.

Will Studio Site Be In Manilla Or Tamworth

At a Manilla Business Mens Association meeting Mr J Cole said talks with Senator Ashley, Post Master General, during a Sydney visit indicated the wireless station would be built at once and ready by year end. Studios would be at Tamworth, due to its larger centre and better programmes, despite Manilla hosting the station. A motion to oppose Tamworth’s studio was carried unanimously.

Warning to Owners on Infested Sheep Movement

Inspector of Stock Mr B J Mydden warns owners of seasonal movement of sheep from North and North West to southern districts. Infested arrivals are notifiable under the Stock Diseases Act and illegal movement by road rail or other means will face legal action.

Commonwealth Bank Posts Interest on Savings Accounts

Commonwealth Bank added interest to deposits on June 6. Pass books must be presented annually for audit and insertion of interest. Depositors whose pass books haven’t been presented since June 8 are asked to lodge them at the first opportunity. Receipts will be issued only at the ledger branch.
