Manilla FSA Branch Protest Over Nicholls Itinerary
The Manilla Branch of the Farmers and Settlers Association held a Friday meeting at the Mechanics Institute chaired by Mr. L Bowman. They condemned the handling of the State Superintendent of the Australian Wheat Board Mr. G Nicholls during a planned itinerary, noting his limited time and lack of engagement in several towns including Tamworth Manilla Bartaba and Inverell. They prepared a strong protest to the General Secretary and plan to push for bulkheads at Upper Manilla while opposing the Wool Stabilisation Scheme as financially harmful. They also discussed appointing an impounding officer and addressing stray stock on shire roads.
