Annual C E Ball Triumph at Memorial Hall
The Annual Church of England Ball drew 500 to 550 patrons to Memorial Hall on Friday. Miss Fay Easterman of Tamworth was named Belle of the Ball with Mesdames Nixon Grill and Duncombe as judges. The event featured a poultry supper by the Women’s Guild, music by Pavy’s orchestra, and an opening by Mayor Ald. Grill.

Rifle Club Annual Meeting Highlights Elections and Prizes
The Rifle Club held its annual meeting with several apologies from supporters. The chair, Mr. A A Yates, presided as officers were elected for twelve months and a social portion followed, presenting numerous prizes, records and committee appointments for members including J B Gilroy, H C Dengate, W G Hall, A T Hall and D Hall.

New Show President Elected at Manilla Agricultural Society
At the annual meeting of the Manilla Agricultural Society Mr T G Bowman was elected President for 12 months. The retiring President Mr B V Byrnes declined re election after three years. Byrnes had led the society since its formation 24 years ago and is only the third president. Bowman thanked the meeting and sought full support from committee members, while paying tribute to Byrnes’s leadership and progress under his tenure.
