It highlights year round comfort, Peters' Ice Cream, pure food drinks and sundaes, fresh confectionery and produce, smallgoods and tobacco, meals at all hours, and catering for weddings and birthday parties, insisting the aim is to please customers.
In Barraba Court Charles Herman Garske, a grazier, faced charges for failing to destroy rabbits on two parcels of land. Evidence showed heavy rabbit infestation and varied trapping efforts. Garske was fined £3 10s with 8s costs. travel expenses were disallowed.
The Manilla branch urged a government inquiry into bleached wheat’s milling and baking value. The Agriculture Department replies that equitable payment proposals are not possible without milling and baking tests to gauge damage, promising reports as tests proceed and noting a 1936 April issue report on bleached wheat.
A sword fish weighing 672 ats was landed at Montague Island last week by a Melbourne sports man. It is claimed to be the largest caught in Australian waters. In Brisbane we examined the head of a black Marlin caught by Zane Grey at Montague last winter. The fish weighed 240 lbs alive and the sword measured two feet.
