Punitive fines in Tamworth rabbit control case
In Barraba Court Charles Herman Garske, a grazier, faced charges for failing to destroy rabbits on two parcels of land. Evidence showed heavy rabbit infestation and varied trapping efforts. Garske was fined £3 10s with 8s costs. travel expenses were disallowed.

Largest Australian sword fish helm Montague Island catch
A sword fish weighing 672 ats was landed at Montague Island last week by a Melbourne sports man. It is claimed to be the largest caught in Australian waters. In Brisbane we examined the head of a black Marlin caught by Zane Grey at Montague last winter. The fish weighed 240 lbs alive and the sword measured two feet.
