RuralWireless Fees Spark Northland Protest Letters
The Manilla Farmers and Settler Association ask the Postmaster General to cut license fees by 0 percent. They argue country wireless listeners over 150 miles from an A station receive only about 40 percent of city service, while the department demands cash regardless of service. Newcastle 2NC is deemed irrelevant to northern listeners, and calls grow for a broad broadcasting solution and nonuniform, fair charges. The department says fees aren’t too high and will improve later, amid long-standing North dissatisfaction.
