Manilla District Hospital Board Reports Drive for Wood and Funds
At the monthly meeting the board noted strong landowner support for wood for the hospital though most will arrive at the start of winter. Contributions included £83 5s 8d from the Hospital Commission and £87 0s 7d from Armidale HBA. Donations came from Tooth and Co and Wills. The gas producer project for LBA and collector work were discussed with Manilla’s share set at £9 8s 4d. Matron reported 42 patients treated that month, 37 admitted, 35 discharged, 7 remaining, with daily average 8.3. Gifts of eggs, magazines and other items were acknowledged. Germany’s winter production drive noted.
