At the Masonic Hall in Manilla a lecture on the Australian Presbyterian Inland Mission was given. Partridge described desert life and the mission's growth from a small start to 11 hostels and 23 outstations with flying doctors. Nurses at hostels ran schools, aided infants, and supported the community amid vast distances and harsh conditions.
