Pioneering 1000 Tons of Ensilage By J H Mc Donald NSW

North West New South Wales pioneer J H Mc Donald of Bonnie Doon near Moree completes a massive ensilage project. He stacked 1000 tons of lucerne black oats wheat and various fodder grasses in pits to feed 2800 acres and 3000 sheep through drought. Old pit ensilage was used and sheep eagerly gathered when feeding time arrived.
