Manilla Council Grants Holiday and Streets Review
The Manilla Municipal Council met last Tuesday with Mayor Bowman presiding. The Manilla Agricultural Society was granted a second show day holiday on Saturday March 19. Council discussed Arthur Street North Manilla repairs and street sealing with Main Roads Board input sought. Tenders for local surfacing were called and closed February 12. A plan to divert heavy wool and wheat cart traffic from the Trunk road was proposed, awaiting further guidance from a Divisional Engineer. Straying stock nuisance was addressed with impounding and one unclaimed horse to be destroyed.
