Canberra Care Now lists orders for low priced SLAMS whether ran or cooked with in stock cooked meats hams and fresh items. They advertise cordial frozen fruits confectionery and Xmas gifts along with Adams cakes and Canberra Cafe offerings under electric fans in hot weather.
The Gazette lists holiday film and boxing double bills for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve with stars such as John Gilbert Delores Del Rio Mary Astor and Gary Cooper. Comedy, romance and adventure features headline the program spanning multiple titles and dates.
J Stephenson Cutter and Designer has opened a tailoring business on Manilla Street in Manilla, next door to C N Scotts. The notice names the new service location and neighboring business for public awareness.

The fifty fourth Annual meeting heard that New Business reached 122 188 policies valuing £19 318 702, up £98 992 from last year. Personal Accident and Sickness policies totaled 1 098 with £721 750, Ordinary Department endorsements 965 policies with £1 133 985. Total income was £3 856 035 with £1 507 239 paid to policyholders. Assets stood at £16 068 017 and were not affected by stock exchange movements.
A meeting discussed grade securities and the main position of the vice principal with an actuary’s valuation outlining approach to bonuses. It noted policyholders’ future returns depend largely on taxation and praised loyal staff while voicing frustration over uneven treatment of rank-and-file members. A visitor remarked on knowledge gaps, and a broader concern about the Graziers’ Council following the A.S.P. trend of power being held by a few.
A Mrs Marks of Coolamon New South Wales won £1000 from a Christmas Art Union by sending a postal note after reading a local paper paragraph. Northern Councils would join to cover 104 miles extra cartage to Lyndner. Alder men Coates and Adie backed Stockton’s letter at the last meeting. Manilla Riflemen visited Barahha and were defeated 434 to 399, with G Malone V Young E North T Bettisen and Hureum on the representation.
