The Indiscretion of the General A Little Romance
A narrative poem intertwines a sea disaster tale with a tale of General Derwent visiting West Hampstead. It shifts from the Seabolt’s doomed voyage to Derwent recalling childhood summers in Willesden Hampstead Heath and a donkey escapade with Millie Furber, ending with comic chaos and muddy mishaps.

Recalled Carchase and Old Love’s Ironies
General Geoffrey Derwent, now fifty, recalls a faded romance with Millie Furber and a childhood prank that resurfaces in a modern chase through Aeol Road. A misremembered past collides with a police interview as he faces a dubious accusation from a long-ago theft.

Call of the Bush Merges Romance and Colonial Ambition
In a long narrative set between London and Australia, Haddon Aylmer, a poet in retreat from life, is drawn into Sylvia Gleeson’s schemes in Sydney and Port Louis. He travels north in a bid to prove himself in wool broking while Sylvia, both muse and manipulator, tempers his ambition with love and social tests, as family pride and bush lore collide with city life.
