Personal accident policies numbered 2 600 with £1 381 650, ordinary department 4 397 policies with accident benefits £1 272 106. Total income £3 908 292. payments £1 897 297. Assets £17 110 588 invested soundly. Mean fund interest 5 16 11 percent. Reserves added £100 000 write off properties and £150 000 contingency funds. Actuarial report strengthened valuation basis with 5 percent net premium rate. Contingencies and bonuses provided. £81 135 carried forward. Staff appreciated. councillors reduced allowances 20 percent. clerk Mr Coates praised. engineering chief Mr Jochimeen commended. 85 hour week used to keep full staff.
