Australia must restore commercial morality after war

Brigadier-General C Herring laments postwar decline in public and commercial ethics in Australia. He decries bribery and the glut of money minded gambling, urges returning soldiers and citizens to honor the motto My duty to God and my neighbor, and to rebuild a better nation. He cites ponies racing as a symbol of moral drift. The Native Bear notes recount keystone years for koalas and bears in Queensland.
