Comforts Fund Appeal Aids Australian Servicemen
RA.L. state president William Yeo said by November 1 the comforts fund had spent over £7000 helping Australian servicemen in Korea and Malaya. About 10,000 parcels costing 16d each went to army, navy and air force personnel, with 400 packs of cards and other writing materials distributed. He urged nationwide donations to meet Christmas distribution costs and praised public support, noting letters of gratitude from troops. Cash donations to the RSL, 273 Elizabeth St Sydney, will be acknowledged. The appeal appeals for families to send gifts to servicemen fighting abroad.
