Manilla Court Hears Alleged Assault Case

At Manilla Police Court W J Caralon faced an assault charge concerning Ida Morrison with intent to commit a serious offence. Morrison testified he grabbed her in Court Street and attempted to choke her, while Caralon claimed the incident resulted from a disagreement and denied guilt. Defense cited intoxication. magistrate reserved judgment.

Farewell to J C Guyot as Dungog says goodbye

The Dungog Chronicle reports a public farewell to J C Guyot new manager of the Government Savings Bank at Manilla. Mayor C T Abbott presided with Hon Walter Bennett MLA praising Guyot for six years of civic service and banking growth from 106 to 260 accounts with deposits doubling. Gifts of sovereigns rose bowl lamp and more were given to Mr and Mrs Guyot. Local notables praised his leadership in the Barrington Tops League and scientific society efforts and wished him prosperity.

Court Proceedings Open with Guilty Plea Advocacy

Dismissed the criminal charge but then charged Defendant with common assault. Kennedy agreed to plead guilty on Defendant's behalf after a lengthy lecture from the PM. Defendant fined £8 and ordered to be bound over to keep the peace for six months on £40 security.

Supplementary Rolls and Local Infrastructure Updates

The supplementary lista were publicly exhibited August 1–16 and will be submitted in September. 142 names were eliminated and 131 added, totaling 838 effective enrolments. Kerbing and guttering work in Rowan Streets is complete with accounts sent to owners. one payment arrived the day after. The Maintenance staff reconditioned the main street and completed footpath work on Neweb Street after kerbing and guttering. Revenue since the last meeting totals £996 0s 5d: General £61 11 11, Street Lighting Fund £2 3 2, BE. W. Trading Fund £152 8 4.

Police Court Clears Several Offences and Fines Ahead of Week

In Tamworth before Mr Geikie P M Beard and Tr Madden, A Gardner fu was fined 1/10 with 8d costs for letting three horses stray on a reef. Kennedy pleads guilty for the defendant. M E Carey charged with allowing 23 horses and 22 cattle to stray but fined £4 8s costs. John Beard and G Langworth guilty of being on licensed premises during prohibited hours, fined £1 8s costs each. S B R Standing with A P Cohen, guilty of allowing persons on licensed premises during prohibited hours, fined £1 8s costs. H M Baker awarded £15 5s 9d against F L Hall for debt owed. Charles Bannerman of the first Australian Eleven to visit England dies on Wednesday.

Farewell to Mr Guyot in Dungog Town Gathering

The Dungog crowd bid farewell to Mr. Guyot with expressions of regret and praise. Alderman J Scott praised his public service and the Soldiers' Club work, while V Banister of Brookfield lauded his popularity and readiness to help. Mr. Guyot thanked locals, recalled football and Stroud days, and noted the move to Manilla as promotion.
