Farmers and Graziers Co op annual meeting held in Sydney
The Farmers and Graziers Cooperative Ltd held its annual meeting in Sydney with Hon. A K Trethowan chairing. Directors E A Buttenshaw G D Bassett and H S Secomb attended along with about one hundred shareholders. The chair urged economy amid a worldwide low mood. The company reported record wool price 311 per lb and led sales in sheep 432 028 cattle 17 407. It handled 16 350 000 bushels of wheat and various hides. Profit for the year was 17 200 with a 3 percent dividend and bonuses to wool producers. Some shareholders argued for a higher dividend and smaller wool bonuses. Secomb was reappointed director. Bogan and Collard were auditors. Willis NSW Agent General in London noted no public service reductions. Vittoria M L Smith commented on Empire trade and Australia’s improved London market.
