Ambulance group laments low public support and rising costs
For nine months the Manilla district ambulance service has 135 subscribers with 107 calls and 3,108 miles. Treasurer records a £49 10s 4d credit after buying the waggon, while fees rise to £1 1s per year or 2d per mile for non members. President Mr Gilmour urges public backing, discusses land purchase for a new station, and thanks the Ladies Auxiliary and volunteers. The meeting also notes officer elections and farewells to Dorothy Hall.
