New England Rifle Clubs Union Annual Meeting Held in Tamworth

The New England Rifle Clubs Union held its annual meeting on Wednesday in Tamworth with delegates from Tamworth Manilla Barraba Gunnedah Werris Creek Uralla Armidale Glen Innes Tenterfield Hilgrove and other northern towns. Officers elected were President G Forre Tamworth Vice President Hl Campbell Werris Creek Secretary J Lipjohn Tamworth Treasurer A R McLeod Manilla. A two day prize programme is planned next May at Tamworth.

Wool freight costs debated in Parliament last week

Captain Chaffey asked if the Premier and Cabinet will consider reducing wool freight charges now that wool prices are rising, noting past multipliers that increased rates when prices were high and lowered them when prices fell. Mr Stevens said current wool freights are 10 percent below earlier levels but not aligned with transport costs and that government concessions were made to aid related industries. any policy for the coming season ties to the Budget and will be considered.

Reward for information on stock theft in Flemington area

A substantial reward is offered for information leading to the conviction of any person or persons involved in stock theft or related crimes around Flemington. The report cites W. G. McMullin and mentions sales at Flemington on Thursday the 10th, with horses described as prime stock between two and three years old and of bluele poll variety.

Warning on Hunting and Trespass at Willamby Area

Notice warns that any shooting hunting fishing trapping or interfering with fences on Willamby will be prosecuted without respect to persons. All previous permissions are withdrawn by R. H. Hudson and Al Baldwin. Those found shooting trapping or poisoning property will be dealt with as the law directs.
