Jounay Bower notifies the public that he has abandoned a shop and relocated it to Mackenzie Chambers. The notice states the move and the new location for business activities.
The Manilla Mechanics Institute annual report to the district notes improved finances due to Commonwealth Bank rent and reduced mortgage debt by £13 10s. The library gains from bank rent. exhibitions and billiards show higher takings while memberships urged for continued support. A separate council assessment is planned for the Institute and Hall, pending member resolutions.
The Municipal Council plans to build abattoirs at a cost of £7000 to serve the town. The health inspector notes country towns in New South Wales lag behind Victoria and says New Zealand towns with 3000 or more inhabitants are compelled by bylaw to have abattoirs.
The report details a twelve month income of £579 6s 1d and expenditure of £528 10s 8d with a balance of £50 16s 4d. Income sources include members subscripts, rents, billiard receipts, tournament entries, card receipts, plant hire, and sundry receipts. Expenditure covers books, salaries, fuel, maintenance, rates, insurances, printing, stamps, billiard requisites, telephone, and tournament prizes.
