Durhan Johannesburg Motor Cycle Race tops gruelling tests
The Durhan Johannesburg motor cycle road race, the world’s most gruelling, saw 29 of 84 finish after 408 miles in 8 hours 28 minutes 28 seconds. W D Griebenow on a Sunbeam led a hard race with averages near 47 miles total and about 50 mph between Newcastle and Johannesburg, as crashes and bad pits plagued riders. A V Brown was first to cross but was disqualified over silencer issues.
