Noxious Weeds Report From Mandowa Shire Council

Noxious Weeds Inspector J Berry reported at the Mandowa Shire Council meeting that inspections of many properties found weed destruction lacking in some cases. A road crew kept weeds under control, with future cutting planned for new growth. Yellow Daisy and Mint weed show reductions, but Noogoora Burr remains a problem along creeks and riverfronts after last season's rains. Landholders who sold property but have not officially transferred ownership may still be liable for weed destruction. The inspector will inspect creeks and watercourses soon and may make adverse recommendations for neglectful sites. Tree tobacco is becoming serious, especially on resumption areas, and fenced land still remains liable for weed destruction. The report was adopted.
