Bowls Club adopts new rules book and plans finals
At the Manila Bowling Club two committee meetings approved issuing 84 bowls rules books from the NSW Bowling Council. Ted North urged adding a matter to the next association agenda about using three rinks in Pennant finals. The club voted to raise insurance on equipment and bowls. Mandilla will send a team to Sydney in May. vacancies will be filled as needed and accommodations arranged.

Car bursts into flames outside Commercial Bank
At about 6 30 pm on Wednesday a tourer car parked in front of the Commercial Bank burst into flames. Mr Rory Perks of Cliftons Garage saw the fire break out and quickly secured a fire extinguisher from the garage. Fire believed caused by a short circuit in wiring igniting petrol leaking from the carburetor. Vehicle owned by Mr Frank Hayes of Arthur.

Donation to Scouts Building Fund by Manilla Business Men’s Assoc
The Manilla Business Mens Association voted five pounds five shillings to the Scouts Building Fund, bringing the total to date to twelve pounds two shillings. The appeal seeks individual support from members to sustain the fundraising effort. One hundred years ago clerks at the GPO in London checked letters for multiple sheets by candle to ensure proper postage.
