A Manilla district report notes north of a central line abundance of rain and pasture with good stock health, while southwards drought worsens with depleted water supplies. Lambing sickness and parasites rise in droughty areas. many owners struggle with feeding as winter nears and wells approach drought.
The off season wool sale began in Sydney with about 42 000 bales offered of which around 5 000 bales were skin wools and the rest rowers wool. Catalogues for autumn shorn wools and oddments will appear. Ouse company catalogues to be dealt with on April 17 and 20, about 2 000 poles. New wool arrives, but weather slowed deliveries. South American exports revived after October, with the USA remaining main buyer and Sweden taking small shipments. Domestic mills rely on government orders. uniform production and seaman’s total output may set new records.
