Veteran Nyngan man travels by air to Sydney at age 92
Ninety two year old David Reeves of Nyngan recalls crossing the Blue Mountains by bullock and horse before flying to Sydney in a Wasp airliner. He travelled three hours for a 300 mile hop, sat beside pilot Ti Purvis, and said air travel felt smoother than old bullock wagons while marveling at how planes make travel easier. Reeves, who arrived with only a suitcase and a few items, still craves a yarn during trips and notes planes are as safe as taxis in Sydney. He first arrived in Sydney from England as a child and lived in Hawkesbury until twelve.
