Rain and church events mark MacGregor area notes
A long drought hampers crop work as farmers await rain before the Young People's Convention. Local gatherings include a MacGregor United Church harvest dinner and a Brand Party in the Masonic hall. Community visits feature Mr. and Mrs. Lynds from Scarth, Man., and Mr. and Mrs. van Vogt of Toronto. The MacGregor Local 198 United Grain Growers Ltd. shareholders meet Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in J. M. McPhee's store. A city-wide drive seeks clothing and household donations for those in need. Local fire watches report bush fires near Langrath and Currie districts with losses of hay and wood. Public notices announce a union convention in Brandon and a land sale near Westbourne for Mr. A. Neutwie.
